Worship Through Dance
Praise the L-rd, all you servants of the L-rd who minister by night in the house of the L-rd. -Ps 134:1
"Let them praise Hashem in the dance” -Ps 149:3
The established ways of worship in dance has been a part of Israel since the earliest days of its faith expression. Israeli Messianic Dance is an expression of praise, thanksgiving and joy to Hashem. Our Dance Ministry serves to complement and enhance the experience of congregational worship. There are many expressions of dance in the older covenant.
One of the many Hebrew words for dance is Karar כָּרַר which means “to dance or whirl.” Some of the Israeli Messianic dances are patterned after traditional Israeli folk dances; others are originally choreographed by Messianic Jewish believers. Messianic Jewish dance ranges from the reverential and devotional to the exuberantly joyful.
Dance has not only been a meaningful demonstration of corporate praise and worship, but dance has always been the Jewish depiction of celebration, Jewish life-cycles, and religious holidays. Israeli Messianic Dance can play an important role in uniting Jewish and Gentile believers in praise and worship of the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
